Late Night Head Count
Purpose:
The Christopher Center tracks building usage during late night hours to provide accurate data for maintaining appropriate hours for our students.
Overview:
Student employees will count every individual in the building, except Grinders and CCLIR staff at 9 PM, 10 PM, and 11 PM. It is the Circulation Desk student employee’s responsibility to collect the count number and the Evening Circulation Managers' responsibility to record them.

Equipment/Supplies: Headcount Excel sheet, scrap paper for counting
Procedure
- Prior to the start of the semester the Evening manager will create a new sheet for the semester The sheet template and instructions for the set up can be found at: S:\CCLS\Circulation & Media\Stats & Door Counts\Head Counts\Head count Archive
- Late Night Head Count
- At 9 PM, 10 PM, and 11 PM, a student employee from the second floor desk will walk the entire building and count every individual in every study room and all open spaces, with the exception of students and staff working in Grinders and CCLIR.
- Using a piece of scrap paper, the student will write each floor total and then tabulate the total for the four floors.
- The student will report that number to the manager on duty (CMEve).
- The manager will enter the number into the Excel sheet for the current semester, located in the Google Drive shared "Head Counts" folder.
