Recall – Available only to Faculty, Staff, and currently enrolled students. Affiliated borrowers and courtesy cardholders are not allowed to recall items.
A patron that searches for a book and finds that book to be checked out can place a recall on the item through the web catalog.
1. Patron should start by searching for the book they are looking for.
2. Once they are on the page that displays the information about the specific book in question, and the book is currently checked out, they
are able to recall the book.
3. Click on the Request button located just above the information for the book towards the middle of the page.
4. Fill in the required information: Name, barcode from the back of their OneCard, pin number for their library account.
a. If the patron has not used their online account with the library before they will be prompted to generate a pin and verify that pin as a part
of creating their account.
b. Patron can also provide a date that the book will no longer be needed.
5. Click on submit to process the recall.
6. The next page shows the details of the book to be recalled, once verified, click the button to request the selected item.
7. Placing a recall will shorten the length of the loan to two weeks for the current borrower and put the item on hold for the patron
requesting the recall.
8. Recalls can also be processed at the circulation desk by a circulation manager following the same procedure for placing a hold, with the exception of choosing to place the book on hold.
Hold - Available to all patrons
