A patron searching for a book and finding that book to be checked out can recall the item through the web catalog, or place a hold. If the item is currently checked out, it will automatically recall the item.

1. Patron should start by searching for the book they are looking for.

2. Once they are on the page that displays the information about the specific book in question, and the book is currently checked out, they are able to recall the book.

3. Click on the Place a hold button right below the title of the book

4. The patron will need to sign in using their university information.

5. Click on Place hold

6. Click on Place hold in new pop-up the location will always be Circulation Desk-2nd Floor

7. Close the pop-up

7. If the item is checked out, it will  issue a recall, which will shorten the length of the loan to two weeks for the current borrower, and put the item on hold for the patron requesting the recall.

8. Recalls can also be processed at the circulation desk by a circulation manager following the same procedure for placing a hold, with the exception of choosing to place the book on hold.
