There is one printer at the Media desk used for various tasks.

The Media desk has one printer that is used for several tasks.

Procedure

1. Star 200 Receipt Printers:

a. There is one (1) Star SP 500 receipt printer located at the Student Assistant computer at the front desk used for printing out:

i. Due date slips

ii. Hold slips

iii. Transfer slips.

b. If a Star 200 receipt printer runs out of paper:

i. Open the cover of the printer.

ii. Remove and discard the black spindle from the printer.

iii. Retrieve new paper roll from Supply Closet in the ASRS Loading room.

iv. Open new paper roll and place inside of printer so it is unrolling from the bottom.

v. Feed the loose end of paper roll into the slot of the printer until it catches and feeds itself through.

vi. Thread paper through the slot in the cover.

vii. Close cover.

c. If a Star 200 receipt printer runs out of ink:

i. Open the cover of the printer.

ii. Remove and discard used ink cartridge.

iii. Retrieve new ink cartridge from Supply Closet in the ASRS Loading room.

iv. Insert a new ink cartridge.

v. Close cover.

d. If a Star 200 receipt printer jams:

i. Open the cover of the printer.

ii. Clear jam.

iii. Close cover.

e. If a Star 200 receipt printer begins to print unauthorized jobs:

i. Turn off the printer.

ii. On the computer find the “Printers” option.

iii. Cancel print job.

iv. Remind Student that computers are not to be used to print class or personal materials, and receipt printer is the default and
the only printer they are connected to.
