Purpose:
Open and Close Terrace
Overview:
The Terrace is located on the fourth (4th) floor and is unlocked daily dependent upon the season/weather. There are two doors to access the Terrace. One door is located on the northern side of Terrace closest to the elevator or stairs. The second, west facing door is located in the southeast corner of the floor near the study carrels.
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Location and use of keys.
Safety Issues/Precautions:
The terrace is locked during inclement weather and 1 hour before closing.
Equipment/Supplies:
Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
Procedure
Open:
1. Head up to the fourth floor.
2. Unlock the Terrace door closest to the elevator or stairs using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys if weather is appropriate.
3. Go to the southeast corner of the fourth (4th) floor (around the study carrels) to the west-facing Terrace door.
4. Unlock the west-facing southern Terrace door using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
Close (Emergency):
1. If inclement weather is upon us, head up to the fourth floor.
2. Clear Terrace of patrons.
3. Lock the Terrace door closest to the elevator using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
4. Head south around the study carrels to the west-facing southern door.
5. Lock west facing southern Terrace door using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
Close:
1. When terrace is open, it will need to be closed at dusk/ dark.
2. Head up to the fourth floor.
3. Clear terrace of patrons.
4. Lock the Terrace door closest to the elevator using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
5. Head south around the study carrels to the west-facing southern door of the terrace.
6. Lock the southern west-facing southern Terrace door using the Master key or BCF 4 key on the wooden key block with six (6) keys.
