Pulling Paged Items

Purpose:

This will allow patrons to request items that are currently available and up in the stacks or the ASRS. Circulation is responsible for pulling these items and placing them on hold once a day.

Overview:

Circulation will now be responsible for pulling items listed as available in the catalog and placing them on hold daily at opening.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

FOLIO access, printer access, and basic Excel knowledge

Computer, Printer, FOLIO access

Procedure

  1. In FOLIO under ‘Requests’ click on Pages and Open-Not yet filled in the Search & filter side menu.
  2. Under Actions choose Export to CSV
  3. On the downloaded CSV the only columns needed are Barcode, Title, Contributor, Effective location, Effective call number, Volume, copy number if required, and requestor name, all others can be deleted.
  4. Print the sheet and have a student pull the books from the stacks
  5. For items that are stored in the ASRS follow the “Pulling items from Dematic Database” procedure
  6. In FOLIO Requests place items on hold and check them in to initiate the hold pickup email.
  7. Write the requestor's last name on a paper slip.
