Lost or missing books replacement by patron
CCLS preference is to NOT accept replacement books from anyone. However, to prevent front line staff from being put on the spot, if someone walks in the door with a replacement copy, accepting the book is the right thing to do.
1. Explain to the patron that there will still be a processing cost. Since we no longer need to order the replacement, a $10 charge seems most appropriate.
2. Check the status code of the book. If the code is not l (lost) or $ (lost and paid), and is still n (billed), the record must be updated.
3. The book status should be changed to $ (lost and paid).
4. The patron record should be changed: the manual charge for the processing fee added to it.
