Logging into MATLAB for Students and Faculty

Students or Faculty wanting to use MATLAB will now need to log in using their MathWorks account. This article describes the steps to create a MathWorks account and to log in to MATLAB.

Creating an Account

Before logging in to MATLAB, you will first need to create a MathWorks account. If you already have a MathWorks account, you can skip to the Logging in to MATLAB section.

STEP 1

Open MATLAB. If you don’t have a MathWorks account, click on Create one! to begin creating your account.

STEP 3

You will need to verify your email after creating your account. MathWorks will send a verification email to your Valpo email address. Follow the instructions on screen to verify and then click Continue.

STEP 4

Create a password for your MathWorks account. Accept the Online Services Agreement and click Continue. You have now successfully created a MathWorks account and can log in to MATLAB.

Don’t Know if You Have an Account?

If you are unsure if you have a MathWorks account, you will also need to click on Create one! and to type in your Valpo email address to see if you have an account. A notification will pop up informing you that a MathWorks account already exists with your Valpo email. If this is the case, you may need to reset your password.

Forgot Password

At this point, you may know you have a MathWorks account but are not sure of the password. If this is the case, simply go back to the log in page and type in your Valpo email. It will bring you to the password page.

Click on Forgot Password. You will then need to type in your Valpo email and MathWorks will send a recovery email to walk you through the steps to reset your password.

Logging in to MATLAB

Once you have your MathWorks account created, you will simply log in to MATLAB using your Valpo email and password that you have created.
