Edit Office Files in Google Apps
Edit Office Files in Google Apps
Google has made a plug-in for the Chrome web browser to allow you to edit full Microsoft Office files within Google Apps. This is especially helpful on a device without Microsoft Office installed, such as a Chromebook.
Step-by-step guide
- Open the Chrome Browser.
- Login to your Google account. Both personal and Valpo accounts will work.
- Visit the Chrome Web Store at this URL for the plug-in: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/office-editing-for-docs-s/gbkeegbaiigmenfmjfclcdgdpimamgkj
- Click the blue Add to Chrome button in the upper right.
- If you click on an email attachment or Microsoft Office file in Google Drive to open it, it will now open in a tab in your browser where you can make edits and save them.
