Retiring from service to Valparaiso University? You may have questions about what happens to your accounts and access.
Question:
Do I get to keep my IT accounts?

Please reference the official Employee IT Account Policy for information on what happens to your accounts after retiring.
Question:
What criteria do I have to meet in order to achieve retiree status?
Answer:
According to Human Resource Services, the criteria are:
- Staff or faculty are 60 years old and completed 10 years or more of service, or under 60 with 25 years of service; or
- Faculty are eligible for early retirement as defined by the faculty handbook.
Questions about eligibility should be directed to Human Resource Services.

Will my username or email address change?
Answer:

Question:
What computing access is included?
Answer:
Your ongoing ValpoNet computing access will include the AMS (to maintain your password), Gmail@Valpo, and Active Directory (campus network).
Faculty may retain their H: drives; staff generally do not retain their H: drives.
Access to other IT systems and services such as Blackboard Learn, DataVU, VPN, campus printing, etc., do not continue unless you retain an active employee status.
