Virtru is a secure email tool to protect the sensitive information shared with others. It allows you to end-to-end encrypt Gmail messages and attachments. End-to-end encryption ensures that only you and your intended recipients can decrypt. No service provider, including Virtru, has access to your content.

Step-by-step user guide

Steps to obtain, install, and use Virtru  

  1. Submit a ticket with @valpo.edu email of the person to add, to the HelpDesk

    1. The IT department will contact Virtru regarding the license purchase 

  2. The end user will need to install and activate the Virtru Chrome plugin. Instructions may be found here.

  3. Use this link for step-by-step instructions on how to send an encrypted email, once installed.

    1. Recipients do not need a Virtru license to read/open an email or attachment, but they will need Virtru Reader. Click here for details.
