Procedure

Acquisitions staff checks both GOBI and Amazon to see what it would likely cost to replace the item with a similar copy via the channels normally used.

Log in to GOBI and look up the item. The cost will be under "US List". If it is in print, use this price.

If you do not have a GOBI login, the list price can often be found from the publisher's website and/or Amazon. On Amazon, the list price is often crossed out right above the current price.

If it is out of print, use Amazon to find the cost of an option that is in "new", "like new", or "very good" condition. It can be a different edition.
