RQMM for the MST Department Requisite MisMatch Maintenance

The Requisite Mismatch process identifies instances where the student's academic record falls short of the requisites defined for the student's registered class enrollment.

The Requisite MisMatch report in Colleague - RQMM - can be run by listing courses by their COURSE ID; or by using a savedlist of STUDENT.COURSE.SEC records for a specific Term.   This document will choose the latter and identify how to run the Informer Report and export appropriately for the RQMM form.    The RQMM form does retain the last-use-entry, so consistency in the name of the savedlist will make this a smooth 2-part process.

In Informer, access this report:

and enter the Academic Term to be used and then Launch Report.

When it completes, you will click on "Export Results" to see this popup, and you will select

Select the     Saved-List     option (second from bottom) which will generate this popup

Click "Export"

and the form will respond:

RQMM procedure.

  • Use the Requisite Mismatch (RQMM) form to specify the criteria and output options for running the Requisite Mismatch process.
  • The Requisite Mismatch process identifies instances where the student's academic record falls short of the requisites defined for the student's registered class enrollment.
  • The RQMM form is divided into two panes:
    • The criteria you enter in the lower pane of the RQMM form is used to select records from the STUDENT.COURSE.SEC file (i.e., course sections for which the student has registered). The requisites defined for each course section are then compared to the student's academic record. If any requisites are mismatched (i.e., not fulfilled), the mismatches are reported to the user.
    • The settings you enter in the upper pane of the RQMM form controls what mismatch information is reported and how it is output. You must choose to report at least one or both of the timing options (Previous/Either or Concurrent/Either) since not selecting a timing option would result with nothing reporting. You must also choose whether requisite mismatches identified by the RQMM process should be sorted in order of Student Name or Section Name. Lastly, you must choose how the requisite mismatches should be output; whether to a Colleague report, to a spreadsheet, or to both. In addition, you can (optionally) name an output saved list into which is stored the STUDENT.COURSE.SEC IDs that fail any of the requisites defined to it, and for which a valid override does not exist.

The following information is output to the Requisite Mismatch Report.

  • Term ID
  • Student's Name
  • Student's Colleague ID
  • Course Section name whose requisite(s) failed
  • Failed requisite timing
  • Failed requisite definition (or the missing non-course for a failed non-course requisite)
  • Co-location specification
  • An indication of whether a Waiver and/or Override applies to the failed requisite (*)
  • All student enrollments (course name or section name) that applies toward fulfilling the requisite
  • The term, start date, and grade (if posted) of student enrollment that applies toward fulfilling the requisite

(*) In scenarios where an override was applied to an unfulfilled requisite when the student registered for the course, but the student's progress toward meeting the requisite has diminished since registration (for example, grades have been posted and the student did not meet the minimum grade for a required by the requisite), then "Regressed" is displayed in the Waiver/Override column. Similarly, if the state of the student's coursework applicable toward meeting the requisite has changed such that progress or regression cannot be reliably assessed by the RQMM process, then "Ambiguous" is displayed in the Waiver/Override column; in such instances the student's coursework as compared to the requisite should be reviewed by the registrar.

The following additional information is output to a spreadsheet:

  • Student Class Level
  • Course Section ID
  • Course Section Location
  • Co-location specification
  • Date student enrolled in the course section
  • Requisite Type (CRS: Course, NONC: Non-Course, SEC: Section)
  • Print text associated with failed course requisites
  • Missing Non-Course ID
  • Override Provider's Colleague ID, OPERS ID and Name
  • Override Status (V: Valid, R: Regressed, A: Ambiguous, NA: Not Applicable)
  • Waiver Provider's Colleague ID, OPERS ID and Name
  • Waived Corequisite Sections
  • Requisite Waiver Reason Code
  • Requisite Waiver Comment
  • All student enrollments (STC IDs) that applies toward fulfilling the requisite
  • Expiration date for incomplete grades

Note: Each course offered by your institution can be defined with requisites. Course requisites can demand that other courses and/or non-courses be taken as a condition for successful enrollment. Furthermore, each of the course's sections can be defined to use the course's requisites (default), or to use its own course and non-course requisites. In addition, each section can demand that other specific course sections be taken concurrently. For more information about defining requisites see the online help for the Course Requisites (CREQ) and Section Requisites (SREQ) forms.

Make sure ALL of the boxes below the Saved List name are BLANK.   Any other criteria entered will limit the results; and the Informer Report has been written to return all of the MST Courses.

If there are values in any of those other selection fields, you can use Ctrl-Alt-D on the field to remove the values.

RQMM will export to excel if you choose the "SS" (spreadsheet) option in the upper right
