Thirteen 50-minute periods during the day (Nine periods between 8:00 AM and 5:20 PM)
All 50-minute and 75-minute periods begin on the hour or half-hour
150-minute periods begin on the half-hour, except for the morning period
- The times for the 50-minute periods are a bit more flexible, and exceptions will be reviewed through the standard exception process, as long as they don’t overlap more than three 50-minute or two 75-minute periods.
No 75-minute period overlaps more than two 50-minute periods
150-minute periods do not overlap more than three 50-minute periods
Co-curricular activities begin at 3:30 PM

All course section start and end times are required to follow the pattern listed above.
Course sections may not overlap with Chapel Break.
Required single-section courses should not be scheduled between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
Two-day-a-week course sections must be on Tuesday/Thursday or after 3:30 PM.
Four-day-a-week course sections may not meet on both Tuesday and Thursday.
No more than 5% of a department's or college's sections can be scheduled at each of 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 1:30 PM MWF; 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:00 PM TR.
Department chairs may recommend room assignments and course-section enrollment caps, but the Registrar will finalize them in consultation with the deans.

All exceptions to the schedule and scheduling parameters must be approved by the Office of the Provost and communicated to the Registrar.
