Reference Teaching Collection Monograph Purchase Policy (Internal)

Reference Teaching Collection Monograph Purchase Policy (Internal)

High-price purchases must support curricular work. Anything over $250 must have a specific lesson plan from the requesting faculty as to how the resource will be used.

For items over $250 that have been previously purchased and are in the collection, the subject librarian should make a case for the purchase (i.e., standard and necessary resource for the discipline, dramatically improved/updated text, change in study of the discipline, etc.).

As stated in the monograph collection policy, items purchased with reference subject funds will be housed in reference. If an item is intended for the circulating collection (even if it is "normally" classed as a reference monograph), then regular subject funds should be used by the subject librarian.
