Rave- Emergency Communication System
Clear communication makes a difference in an emergency situation which is why Valpo is taking steps to protect and inform our campus community with the use of Rave Mobile.
A communication system is being used that allows the university to send urgent messages via email and through text messaging. This program was selected by the Office of Information Technology in coordination with the University Police Department in 2021 to increase our speed and effectiveness in emergency situations.
VALPO STUDENTS, FACULTY and STAFF
While all faculty, staff, and students will immediately begin receiving emails through their Valpo accounts, those wishing to receive text message alerts will need to complete an additional step by managing their account details with Rave.
To enroll in text messaging, please visit https://www.getrave.com/login/valpo and select your Valpo Gmail account to sign-in. From there you will be asked to approve the terms of use. Once you have done so, you will be able to view your account and add your mobile number. Please note that you can also add up to two additional numbers to your account to receive these emergency messages should you have family members or friends that you wish to add. Please note that you can opt-out at any time by removing your number from your online account. Message and data rates may apply.
Should you have any questions or concerns related to this new communication, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Information Technology for support by emailing us at helpdesk@valpo.edu.
