H Drive Desktop Icon No Longer Works

Problem

A shortcut on a user's computer desktop is links to the H: drive, but no longer works properly.

Solution

1. Right-click on the Desktop shortcut.

2. Select Properties

   1. The target field will probably read: \\storage\Home\username *

3. Change the target field to point to the correct location.

   1. For Staff:  \\homestead\STAFF_HOME\username *

   2. For Faculty and Retirees:  \\homestead\FAC_HOME\username *

4. Click OK and the shortcut will now point to the correct location.
