This is not actually a role, but will display if the person has no primary role set. This indicates that they held an active role in the past, but currently don't fall into any of the above other categories. This could be and admit who decided not to attend, a student that left without completing a single credit, or a staff/faculty member that no longer works here and wasn't granted retiree status. This status is NOT entitled to any account, including email.
