Procedure

Step 1: Submitting the order:

...

  • If item is a book, search it in GOBI. If found, add rush details in the “Note” field and select item. Use Gobi account number 5552-01. Use vendor code yanb.

...

  • If item is not in GOBI or not in book format, send an email to lib.orders@valpo.edu with as much detail about the item as possible (ISBN very helpful).

...

  • The order must include the name of the person who will call for the item at the Circulation Desk once it becomes available, or the course name, number and professor for reserve items.

...

  • Call Acquisitions or email lib.orders@valpo.edu to notify Acquisitions that a rush order has been submitted.

IMPORTANT

NEVER put a note in an order record that says someone should be notified. If someone wishes to be notified when an item has been cataloged, and does not intend to borrow the item, he/she should set up an notification alert on their MyGalileo account. Alternatively, you can set up your own MyGalileo account to notify you, and then you can notify the requester. The RUSH cataloging designation should never be used for notification purposes, nor should Circulation hold something for a person who does not intend to borrow it.

...
