Setting External Grade in Blackboard

Starfish pulls the student’s current grade from your Blackboard Grade Center. By default, the Total Column is set as your External Grade in Blackboard. If you want Starfish to display and pull a calculated grade column (e.g. weighted grades), this would be the column of focus for the following procedure.

1, Login to Blackboard > Full Grade Center

2. In the Grade Center find the column for the end term grade that you will use as the students’ final grades.

3. Click the down arrow ( ) on the desired column.

4. Choose Set an External Grade.

The green check mark indicates this Grade Center column has been set to an External Grade that will transfer to Starfish.
