Cannot Open Canvas Student Submission Due to Google Chrome Cookies for Faculty

This is for troubleshooting issues with Canvas and not being able to view a student’s submission due to cookies. The error derives from cookies permissions in the Google account itself. Here is the step-by-step process on how to fix this issue:

  1. In the top-right corner of your Google Chrome tab, click on the three vertically aligned dots and open settings from that menu.

  2. This will open your Google Chrome profile settings, along the left open privacy and security, then third-party cookies.

  1. There will be a section called “Sites allowed to use third-party cookies”, click add and type in “canvas.valpo.edu”

  2. Click Add and restart google chrome.
