Sign Up and Login

  1. Navigate to https://valpo.12twenty.com/Login

  2. First time on 12twenty? Click the “sign up for an account” button and use your Valpo Email in the username to create a unique password

    1. Students may only “sign up” through this portal if they are currently registered for classes

  3. Moving forward, you can use your Valpo Email and unique password combination to log in

  4. Once logged in, select the profile tab from the left side navigation bar to complete your personal profile

 

Uploading Application Materials (Resume, Cover Letter, Class Schedule)

  1. Go to the “Application Materials” tab to upload your application documents

    1. Under each Application type header, click the “+Add New Document” and choose a document from your computer, then give it a name

      1. Note: Document names are not visible to employers and there is no limit to how many documents you can upload

    2. All documents (outside of the URL section) must be uploaded as a PDF to ensure employers can easily access them as “Application Packets”

  2. Be sure to identify a primary resume by checking a box in the Resume Section titled “This is my primary resume”

    1. Once your documents have been approved, you can begin to apply for positions.

 

Applying for Jobs

Once your application materials have been uploaded, you can begin to apply to the active campus student employment opportunities.

  1. Click on the “OCI and Job Listing” module from the left side navigation bar

    1. Type of Job Tab: Click this tab and select Valparaiso Univeristy on campus job

    2. Applied Tab: This tab tracks your applications for listings within the career system

    3. My Interview Availability Tab: Here you can block off any times you are not available for interviews so you cannot be scheduled at this time

  2. Click on the job you want to learn more about to see the application criteria

  3. Once you click into a listing you will see all the pertinent information, job description, application deadlines, and application instructions

  4. Click the “Apply” button in the top right hand corner of the page to submit your application materials

    1. Click on the “heart” icon to favorite job postings you want to come back to later

  5. Confirmation of the Application will be a “Congratulations” page and a confirmation email

  6. Be sure to keep track of your applications via the “Applied” tab on “OCI and Job Listing” module, or the “Target Employers” module

 

Appointments

The Appointments tool will help you stay connected with the career advising team in Career & Alumni Office, on-campus or virtually.

These 1:1 meetings can address all aspects of career planning which include: resume and cover letter assistance, application procedures, and professional development.

  1. Navigate to the appointments module from the left side navigation bar

    1. You can navigate to your preferred date, career coach, or type of appointment as well as toggle between different views (List, Month, Week, Day)

  2. Simply click on your preferred appointment block/time and the “Book Appointment” button

  3. Fill the quick appointment form so your selected career advisor knows how to prepare for the meeting

  4. Don't forget to add supporting documents, such as resume and cover letters

  5. Add the appointment to your personal calendar so you don’t forget!

Interview Questions Database

This database stores interview data and insights from post graduates. While national tools are great, the Interview Database has data unique to the employers who typically interview and hire Valpo students. This is a great place to start to understand the common questions and interview experiences our community has and to begin to prepare yourself for upcoming interviews.

  1. Start by selecting your “Industry” and then layer an additional “Employer” attribute to further target the results

  2. Click “Get Results” to see the interview data populate

    1. Interviews Tab: This tab allows you to see the interview details submitted by your peers in an anonymized way. The reported experience populates via an insights box to the right of selected interview

    2. Interview Questions Tab: This tab focuses in on the most commonly asked interview questions for the attributes selected with additional data on when these questions come up

    3. Interview Insights Tab: This tab focuses in on the insights students have shared about their interviews for the attributes selected
