Procedure (Adult Volunteers)
Library personnel will fill out the Project Opportunities form which will generate a spreadsheet entry. Library personnel are responsible for managing the projects s/he enters on the form. You cannot create a project for someone else to manage.
The spreadsheet (as a pdf) with all active projects will be shared with the potential volunteer by the Administrative Assistant to the Dean.
If the volunteer chooses a project, s/he will be asked to contact the project director/s who will follow the current Accepting Library School Interns or Volunteers Guidelines.
As part of the acceptance process, the Dean is to be notified. When you notify the Dean, an entry will be made on the Project Opportunities spreadsheet indicating that the Project is currently taken.
Once a project is completed or has reached a conclusion with the volunteer, the project director will complete a Project Completion form which will trigger the removal of the Project Opportunity from the active listing. There is no expectation for a volunteer relationship to last past the project's completion/ending.
