Community Room Card Swipe

Purpose:

This procedure is in place to provide students a space to continue to study after hours.

Overview:

Closing managers will make sure that patrons in the community room at close are students, staff, or faculty at Valpo.

Procedure:

During fall and spring semesters the community room will be available to University personnel and students 27/7 when classes are in session. During the summer Summer sessions the Community room will be available to University personnel and students via card swipe from 7:00-Midnight Monday through Thursday. Students who are using the community room when it closes will not be asked to leave. The community room will be locked after hours on weekends starting at library close(5pm) on Friday until the library reopens on Monday(7:30 am) The community room will also be locked after hours during student breaks and university closures unless otherwise determined by Library and/or University Administration.

The closing manager will ask for Student ID’s at close to determine that community members are not staying in the community room after hours.
