Setting up OCLC Connexion for export to Sierra

Purpose: This procedure explains how to set up OCLC Connexion to export records from OCLC World Cat into Sierra.
Overview: Exporting individual bibliographic records from OCLC World Cat is one of the core activities in the ordering or cataloging processes. This procedure describes how to enter the appropriate settings so that records can be downloaded correctly into our Innovative ILS, Sierra. Technical Services and Acquisitions staff need to use this procedure whenever they set up Connexion on a new PC or if their settings are ever lost.
Required Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of OCLC Connexion.
Equipment/Supplies: Individual OCLC login and password, PC with OCLC Connexion software and an Internet connection.
Procedure
1. Open up OCLC Connexion and login.
2. Click on Tools and select Options.
3. Click on the Export tab and select Create.
4. Choose: OCLC Gateway Export and click on Accept, OK.
5. Fill in the blanks in the dialog box as follow:
Host name: 216.17.112.104
Port: 5500
Timeout: 10
Retries: 0
Delay: 90
All other boxes should be blank. Uncheck any that are not.
Click Accept, OK.
6. In the next box that appears, rename the export destination: Sierra.
Click Accept, OK.
