Consortial Partners
Christopher Center Library Services partners with other institutions through membership in various consortia, including the following:
Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS)
MCLS's mission is to facilitate sharing resources and to collaborate with other organizations to benefit Indiana and Michigan libraries.
Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI)
"A striking vision has emerged from this process – one that articulates an inter-related and dynamic response that supports teaching, learning and research in Indiana’s 73 institutions of higher education, which range from small private schools of less than 100 students to large public universities of more than 50,000 students. Managing this strategic cooperation will be a new nonprofit organization called the Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI)." from the ALI homepage
VU students should inquire at the CLR Circulation Desk about obtaining an ALI card. For more information on the ALI card: http://library.valpo.edu/ali.html. Member library list: http://ali.bsu.edu/members.html
LYRASIS
We are considered a LYRASIS participant through our ALI membership; we do not have full member status.
"Created in 2009 by the merger of PALINET and SOLINET and joined shortly thereafter by NELINET, LYRASIS is the nation’s largest regional non-profit membership organization serving libraries... Comprised of more than 1,700 members, and serving hundreds more through group arrangements, the diverse LYRASIS membership is located primarily in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Southeast, and West regions of the U.S. "
Center for Research Libraries (CRL)
An international not-for-profit consortium of colleges, universities and libraries that makes available scholarly research resources to users everywhere. CRL is governed by the major research libraries of North America and is funded by fees, grants and contributions. Open to scholars and researchers, its outstanding collections include more than five million volumes of research materials rarely held in North American libraries.
