Change Your Preferred First Name - Students
To make a change to the your preferred first name in your default email address:

Students with a current DataVU1 login may request a Preferred First Name by selecting the User Options under the Menu located in the left column, then select User Profile. There will be a list of links that are not yet available in Self Service. The Preferred First Name is listed. Click on the Preferred First Name Change link and log in to proceed.
- Read the Preferred First Name Policy and click "Submit" to indicate your agreement.
- Complete the field indicating your preferred name, or change your preferred name, and click "Submit."
- Registrar staff will process the change and your email address will automatically update.
- You may need to change the name in your email signature so that it displays your new address.
- You may also Your new preferred first name will be automatically assigned during the overnight processes.
- You may need to use the updated email address when logging into Google sites and apps; however, both email addresses should work to allow you to login.
